Stable & Trailer Mats
Rubber United supplies stable and trailer mats to stud farms, equestrian centres, livestock farmers, vets and trailer builders across South Africa. Our heavy-duty rubber protects floors and gives animals a firm, non-slip surface. You can choose between loose mats for stables and rubber matting on a roll for trailers, horseboxes and long walkways.

Mats or a roll?
Loose mats are the easiest choice for stables. Each horse stall mat weighs 38 or 45 kg, so it lies flat without glue. In addition, you can lift a single mat to clean underneath. A roll, on the other hand, covers a long trailer floor or walkway in one piece, with fewer joins. For this reason, trailer builders usually choose matting on a roll.
Stable and trailer mats for every animal
- Horses: stalls, foaling boxes, wash bays and grooming areas.
- Cattle and other livestock: dairy parlours, pens and walkways. Here, many farmers lay the stable mat ribbed side up, so urine and water run off.
- Transport: horse trailers, horseboxes, livestock trucks and the loading ramps of livestock trailers.
All our stable and trailer mats are solid rubber. Therefore, they do not drain water and work best indoors or under a roof.

Frequently asked questions about stable and trailer mats
Which mat do I need for a horse trailer?
For most horse trailers, the trailer mat on roll of 8 mm works well. For a thicker, more cushioned floor, choose hammer blow flooring or the 12 mm stable mat.
How many stable mats do I need?
One stable mat covers 2.33 m². For example, six mats in two rows of three cover 3.72 x 3.75 m.
Can I use these mats outdoors?
Only under a roof, because solid rubber does not drain. For open areas, choose our outdoor rubber tiles instead.
