A rubber threshold ramp from Rubber United bridges the height difference at doorways, loading areas and raised floor edges. The sloped sides let wheelchairs, trolleys and pallet trucks approach the ramp from several angles. As a result, people and goods move over the threshold smoothly, without a hard bump. We supply these ramps to warehouses, factories, offices, hospitals, schools and retailers across South Africa.

Each ramp is made from solid recycled rubber. Because of its weight, it stays in place without screws or glue. The rubber also absorbs noise and vibration, so trolleys roll over it quietly.

Choose the right rubber threshold ramp height

Measure the height of your threshold first. Then choose the ramp that matches it, or the next size up.

Height Length x width Max. load
26 mm 110 x 21 cm 1,000 kg
38 mm 110 x 32 cm 1,000 kg
51 mm 110 x 42 cm 1,000 kg
65 mm 110 x 42 cm 1,000 kg
75 mm 90 x 46 cm 1,000 kg
90 mm 90 x 53 cm 1,000 kg
103 mm 90 x 60 cm 1,000 kg

Built for daily commercial use

  • Bevelled edges: users can approach the ramp from the front and from the sides.
  • High load capacity: every size carries up to 1,000 kg, so it also suits trolleys and forklifts.
  • Indoor and outdoor: the recycled rubber is weather-resistant and keeps its shape in sun and rain.
  • No installation needed: you simply place the ramp against the threshold, without tools.
  • Quiet and stable: the heavy rubber stays put and dampens the noise of wheels.

Where to use a threshold ramp

In practice, our customers use these ramps at:

  • front and back doors of offices, shops and clinics
  • warehouse and workshop entrances, including forklift routes
  • loading areas and raised floor transitions
  • sliding glass doors, patio doors and balconies
  • garage and driveway entrances
  • wheelchair and mobility scooter access points

Straight sides or bevelled edges?

This ramp has bevelled side edges, which makes it the best choice for a single doorway. However, do you need to cover a wide entrance with several ramps next to each other? Then our rubber wheelchair ramps with straight sides are the better option. For a light, low threshold, we also offer a PVC threshold ramp of 20 mm.

Frequently asked questions

Which height do I need?

Choose a ramp that is equal to the height of your threshold. If the exact size is not available, take the next size up. That way, the ramp fully covers the edge.

Can a forklift drive over this rubber threshold ramp?

Yes. Each size has a load capacity of up to 1,000 kg. For heavier vehicles, please contact us first.

Do I need to fix the ramp to the floor?

Usually not, because the solid rubber is heavy enough to stay in place. On smooth floors with very heavy traffic, you can secure it with a strong outdoor adhesive.
